MTV showing off next-gen Xbox on May 12

Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood to host special unveiling the forthcoming platform four days before Microsoft's E3 press conference.
Last week, a teaser site connected to Microsoft began showing visitors glimpses of what looked very much like the next-generation Xbox. Curiously, though, a clock on the site, Ourcolony.net, was counting down to the evening of May 12. The date was nearly four full days ahead of Microsoft's E3 press conference on May 16, where the company had previously said it would unveil the console.

Today, the reason for the timing of Oucolony.net's countdown clock became clear. Microsoft announced it will give US gamers their first look at the "next-generation Xbox" on MTV on the evening of May 12. The unveiling of the still-officially-unnamed console will be done by Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood, who Microsoft describes as "a seasoned gamer and Xbox fanatic," on the appropriately named special MTV Presents: The Next Generation Xbox Revealed. The show will air at 9:30pm EDT in the US and at various other times on May 13 on MTV's various international channels.

According to a joint statement from MTV and Microsoft, MTV Presents: The Next Generation Xbox Revealed "will feature never-before-seen, action-packed gameplay of future Xbox games, a peek into the future of the Xbox Live online gaming service, backstage celebrity interviews and exclusive insider footage on the making of the next-generation console." In order to further woo music-loving gamers, it will also feature live performances by the rock group The Killers, whose gaming prowess was not divulged as of press time.

Though short on information on the next-gen Xbox, the MTV/Microsoft statement did reveal a few details on the console. “Just as MTV revolutionized the way the world experiences music, the next-generation video game console from Xbox will spark a revolution in how consumers experience games and other forms of digital entertainment,” said Microsoft corporate vice president Peter Moore, indicating that the platform will indeed have home-entertainment functionality beyond games.

Donc ont aurra droit a un devoilement officiel du X-Box queques jours avant le E3.


De cette facon Microsoft veux surmement avoir toute la publicité pour eux dans la semaine precedent le E#, sachant que par la suite Sony et Nintendo aurront aussi quelques chose de gros a presenter!

Ben MTV cest une chaine de musique tres branché au USA! et les jeunes ecoute se poste de tv la!

Microsoft vise probablement a crée l'envoument chez les jeunes et les sdos, puis ensuite les plus vieux quelques jours apres au E3.

Mais dit toi que d'autres journaliste vont ecouter se reportage a MTV et en reparler dans leur chronique de jeux, revue ou journaux ect

Nintendo eux aurront un autres avantage! ont sais maintenant que Nintendo serra le dernier des 3 constructeurs a presenter sa console! Nintendo tiendra ca conference Revolution le 17 Mai au matin! l'avantage du Big N, C,est qu'il aurron ecouter les deux autres conferencs et pourrons faire des attaques ou des liens avec la presentation des autres.


ex: Sony ont annoncer hier revolution le gameplay avec deux bouton X, et bien nos allons envoyer leur suposer revolution au oubliette avant meme quelle ne soi commercialiser, Medammes et messieur... voici la veritable revolution du jeux.

Si Nintendo serrait avant il ne pourrait pas se permette de tel ennoncer,n'étant pas encore sur a 100% de ce que le autres ont sous le chapeau!

En fait ce qui est marrant, c'est que les trois constructeurs on l'air d'innover, mais bien sûr pas de la même façon ^^

J'attend donc celui qui comprendra au mieux la simplicité
